Once there was a little girl called Mary. She and her father had traveled around the world on his ship and done some amazing things. They also found a blue sapphire on one of their adventures.

Sadly, he died in a storm on the way back and she was left all alone.

One day she lost her blue sapphire in the ocean after that she wept, and cried until she fell asleep.

Now, there was also a blue-ringed octopus that collected blue things. He found Mary’s sapphire and kept it.

Later, a woman came to his coral and said, “give me my sapphire scirtle!” and with one shot of venom, she fell to the ground.

Next, a man came and said triumphantly, “that is my sapphire ring!” and again, with a little help of anemone, he fell to the ground.

 Finally, Mary came.

“Oh, please can I have my sapphire back, Mr. Blue-Ringed Octopus!”

“Sure!” he said, and handed it over, but then the little girl began to cry. The venom sunk in through her veins, and she fell to the ground, and joined her father in heaven.
