The Blood-scraper by Ede
Everyone says not to go to the top level.
“But why?” a young girl demanded.
“Because it’s the rule,” she was told. “The skyscraper is 2009 years old, and it is 10.8km tall.”
The girl was so mad that the next day when she was cleaning the windows with the harness, she went to the top level.
As she was climbing, the world grew still around her, until she lost her grip on the tassel and fell off the edge.
She was dropping, flying at an ear-piercing rate.
She fell, down and down to the bottom.
She splat on the ground face first, there was blood everywhere she looked and the blood gave the walls a new red coat of paint.
